Paul W. Hobby
Paul W. Hobby has been a director of NRG since March 2006. Mr. Hobby is Founder and Managing Director of Genesis Park LP, a Houston-based private equity firm specializing in industrial intelligence, energy transition and communications investments. In that role he has decades of mergers, acquisition, integration and dispositions, taking management roles when necessary. He was CEO of Texas Monthly from 2016 to 2019, served as the CEO of Alpheus Communications, from 2004 – 2011, and as Chairman of CapRock Services, Inc. from 2002 to 2007. Caprock became the largest provider of satellite services to the government, energy and maritime sectors. His public company board experience also includes current membership at FloTek, and previous experience with Eagle Global Logistics, Stewart Information Services Corporation, Coastal Bank, Amegy Bank of Texas and Aronex Pharmaceuticals. He is former Chairman of the Texas Ethics Commission, the Houston Branch of the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas, the Greater Houston Partnership, the Texas Business Hall of Fame, and the Texas General Services Commission and is currently on the Baylor College of Medicine Board of Trustees. Mr. Hobby also served as Texas Lieutenant Governor Bullock's Chief of Staff and as an Assistant United States Attorney from 1989 to 1992. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and the University of Texas School of Law.
